We believe that Kings has both the technical and practical resources to provide our customers with the best service possible. Our knowledge and advice is respected throughout the industry and is provided by skilled and experienced members of our team who have a genuine interest in game cover and conservation crops.
History
Established in 1793 by Mr John K King, Kings has long been at the forefront of speciality seed production in the UK. It was in 1805 that Kings received its first Royal Warrant as "Seedsmen" from His Majesty the Prince of Wales. John K King and Sons Ltd continued to build their business in the production of plant seeds for agriculturalists and horticulturalists over many years.
In 1996, the company was purchased by Associated British Foods plc (ABF). It was in 2002 that Kings purchased Poacher Seeds, a leading player in the game cover market.
In 2005, Kings entered a new era. The merger of two of the UK's leading arable businesses (Allied Grain and Banks Cargill) to form Frontier Agriculture Ltd, enabled Kings, as a division of Frontier, to access new and exciting opportunities for speciality crops.

Kings' Seed
The vast majority of Kings seed storage, handling, processing and distribution is undertaken by our colleagues at Frontier Agriculture in Diss, Norfolk, with whom we work very closely. This facility has many benefits, including a dedicated processing plant with extensive warehousing to deal with the wide range of raw materials and finished goods that we need to store, and subsequently distribute.
Some seed is imported from overseas and quality is paramount as some exporting countries have very different seed standards to the UK. At our seed production facility in Diss we have an on-site NIAB satellite laboratory with highly skilled and experienced staff, allowing us to check thoroughly the purity, vigour and germination of all raw materials and finished goods.
Being part of a major agricultural company, Kings have the ability to source some of the more specialist raw materials from our local contract grown crops.
We are constantly developing new products and investigating further opportunities to offer our customers the best range of goods and services available.
